I don’t get to go out on vacation very often, so a trip I took to Six Flags Great Adventure last summer was a welcome distraction, even if I was only going for one day. I drove down to New Jersey to meet friends, and we spent the day in the park. I had been to Great Adventure after my high school graduation, but because it takes six hours to drive there, I had not been back since. Not only was I excited to ride some of the great attractions that I remember from fifteen years ago, I couldn’t wait for my daughter to experience the thrill of an amusement park for the very first time.
Visit Wiggles’ World !
What I really like about Great Adventure is the way the park is set up. We went when they were opening Wiggles’ World, and I was happy to see that this part of the park was not that far from the main entrance. The other sections for kids were located in the same area. This is great because that means children to large for strollers but not old enough to walk for very long distances can get where they need to go quickly. That only is something that any parent can be happy about when they arrive.
Reasonable food and drinks!
Even better, the food variety and price in Great Adventure was not really all that bad. When considering what you pay for those things in an arena or other public event, the prices there are pretty reasonable. There is an Italian restaurant in Great Adventure that has decent prices, great portions, and incredible food. Considering the usual public food offerings in places like this, I thought this was one of the best attractions in the whole park. Walking around in the heat makes you thirsty and hungry, and those things should not break your budget so you can’t do anything else.
Weather preparation ....
The only problem with Great Adventure is that there is limited shade. That is not enough to stop me from going again, and that should not stop you either. Just remember to take an umbrella for shade if you are going on a day that will be clear, bright, and hot. There are water fixtures that allow children to cool off, and they always love to play in the water. You will have a great time at Great Adventure, and you won’t be sorry you went. It can be a bit pricy, but this makes a great one day trip for most families who need a short break and a whole lot of fun.
See you at Six Flags!
